A visit to Jerry’s Jungle Huts is a journey to an unusual place where the beauty and diversity of Himalayan landscape delights the senses, authentic Indian hospitality makes you feel like part of the family and the outdoor adventures range from exhilarating to sublime.
The lodge’s comfortable bungalows and individual cottages are between a pristine forest reserve, private mountain stream and a ferocious river. It is surrounded by a landscape where birds and butterflies flit through exuberant foliage and complement the soothing sound of flowing water. Jerry’s Jungle Huts blend into this landscape. Located at a very comfortable altitude the weather is never too extreme around the year.
Getting there is also part of the adventure, since most of our guests are used to walking the 400 meters trek to the lodge which is quite dramatic passing through a villa, gushing Neugal river and some pine forests. Jerry’s Jungle Lodge is also an ideal spot to kick back and relax, enjoy the scenery and serenity, and get to know the local people or just gaze at the imposing Dhauladhar mountain range from the comfort of your balcony. In this day and age please try and learn to do nothing sometimes!!! Its healthy
In fact, most guests say they wish they’d booked a longer stay. A host of activities await you from pure adventure to spiritual and culinary pursuits.
It all stated in 2008 when on a casual stroll in the forest outside his hometown Palampur , Anil Jaryal (Jerry) spotted a rocky piece of land along a stream. Within seconds the idea of starting a quiet getaway close to nature rushed through his mind.
This dream was slowly realised along with inputs from an old University mate Ramesh Nambiar from the hospitality industry. Built with passion and patience it is Jerry and his teams’ earnest quest to go “Back to Nature”. Jerry’s Jungle Huts is an Eco Farm concept that continually evolves. Hence no two trips ever will be alike.
Please note the walk from the road head to the lodge is a minimum of 400 metres over the bridge.
Senior Citizens, infants are not encouraged unless very fit or are able to walk. In fact anyone coming to the lodge especially in summer must be prepared for this trek. Needless to say help with baggage is always provided. However minimise the load to the bare items of clothing and footwear and personal items which are essential for your health.
Also note we do not encourage plastic and try to be as conscious of the nature around. Our RO system has safe drinking water but please carry your own mineral water if you need and if possible take the empty bottles back when you leave.
We do not have TV nor Air Conditining . Wifi connectivity is possible in the dining area.
So come and experience this unusual getaway...
