Exceptional... is the word that comes to the mind while thinking of all the aspects-location, service especially for travelers wanting to go away from the crowds. But what made the spirits of our group soaring as high as the surrounding Dhauladhar mountains.....yes for each and every member from my 4 yr old to 70+ yr old parents was the personalized attention to the details. Admire nature, laze around, do the treks, eat organic food. have a picnic near the river...all this at yr own pace and with the chirping of the birds to keep you company. Thank you Mr Shakti and to your team for making this experience so memorable. And to Shubham for playing that special birthday tune for my mother.

Pampered in Natures Lap!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A small but terrific resort nestled in the middle of Himalayas. A perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature with excellent food prepared from organic vegetables grown right in the resort. A view of the snow capped peaks and 2 rivers right in the property. LOG huts and a friendly staff who are there to pamper you. Enjoy a trek in the nearby mountains, take a splash in the rivers or just laze around the whole day and enjoy the excellent food prepared by the chef. My family spent 4 days in this resort and we loved every bit of it. The resort cuts you off from the rest of the world and then the chefs prepare this heavenly food ranging from Indian to continental - everything they made had us licking our fingers and wanting more. We loved the place and yes - we will keep going back again and again. And a special thanks to the owners - Anil and Shakti - they make everyone feel so wanted and really pamper you. Great work keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!
Natures own Resort
The wooded cottage Palampur resort is surrounded with snowy Himalayan mountaintops along with beautiful river flowing nearby. its a great place if you really want to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Rooms are really beautiful with all basic amenities with that big windows for awesome views of the Himalayas. They have their own farm for fresh vegetables. overall it was an awesome stay and a memorable one.
"Peaceful place to unwind in the lap of the Himalayas"
A unique Farm Stay to d'stress and unwind with my doggie Brandy. What a fabulous time. My sapling Zingo Biloba, the only living fossil planted last year has grown with the Mayple and Jacaranda. Wow!!!
"I lived my dream"
As a globetrotter due to the nature of my job, I was on a short trip to India from Australia recently but since I had heard so much about Jerrys Jungle Huts that I could not resist spending a night there despite my packed schedule. It was worth every penny! This is a place which is a paradise on this earth especially if you want to relax completely. The location is amazing and the photographs in the website, though very attractive, are an understatement of the place. You need to be there to believe it! I was happy to note that both- RO & mineral water is served to everyone which is very reassuring. To my amazement, I was asked if I would like parsley or celery soup and to add to my excitement, the parsley soup was prepared form their own organic garden and had quite a unique flavour of organic parsley which was a treat to my taste buds!
The room was very comfortable and reminded me of the Swiss chalets, completely wooden with a modern bathroom. The air you breathe there would wake you up in the morning with the freshness which is unbelievable. The staff there is very friendly and you would get all the services with warmth and smile. The staff would serve you as per your requirements and would go out of their way to service you. Best part I liked was that the food is prepared fresh from their own organic garden and served as per your taste. The bonfire and bar-b-q is unforgettable and if you are planning to go there, definitely ask for the never ending supplies of the bar-b-q.
For me, I lived my dream. I am coming back to India in coming October on vacation with my family and have already blocked my three days in October with the family to be here and spend quality time. Thanks to the staff & management of Jerrys Jungle Huts; we are back in October!
Stayed February 2015, travelled with family
"great place to stay"
Randomly stumbled upon this place. Turned out to be a great find. Away from the crowd and great place to relax where you are absolutely in sinc with nature. brilliant location right next to a stream and the service is also great. The rooms are nicely done with breath taking views. Will definitely go back to stay for a longer duration. And the best part about the place is the beautiful walk (10 mins) to reach the place and make you feel completely cut off from the world.
"Great place to meditate and heal yourself"
Three nights and days at this amazing place felt much too short. Hopefully, next time I may visit the Pong Dam to watch the birds fishing. The nearby Ayurvedic center should also receive a visit. There are also many historical temples, both Hindu and Buddhist to visit.
Architecturally I fell in love with the yurt design for the main hall with its traditional stonewalls and slate roof. The clay floor and old bukhari metal stoves, regularly stoked by the staff made you think you were in an earlier century. Still it was nice to have a Wi-Fi connection.
Where else do you wake up looking out over 5 ridges of the Himalayan mountains, some of which are snow covered, while you are surrounded by a garden filled with an amazing variety of fruit trees from bananas and papayas to cherries and apples. My spacious room was far from a hut!
The eco-friendly concept extends to all vegetables grown without pesticides, plus a cook who has a great sense for balancing spices and herbs. This made for some wonderful foodie days. The staff was very attentive and helpful, with the warmest and kindest smiles.
Thank you so much Jerry for guiding me and holding my hand on the hikes to and from the road/car and the Yurt. My office desk had not exactly prepared me for the hikes.
Beautiful Location Exceptional Service
Thank you Jerry/ Shakti and team for one of the best hill stay experiences of our well travelled life. The food, location, service and taste makes JJH one of the best if not the best small resorts in the country.
Remember if you are asked for your food preferences before your arrival please let them know as this is not a gimmick but something which the team of JJH really mean.
Its a small resort in a large area right at the foot hills of the mountains. Cross the stream on foot to reach this place while enjoying the beautiful landscape. Savour the food that is served with love and warmth. Enjoy the never ending tea / coffee supply. The bon fires never stop.. Service is with a big smile and both Jerry and Shakti the owners make it even better.
Try the mutton curry, til aaloo, noodles and the thumpa along with a cold beer on the rocks of the stream flowing just behind the kitchen.
We stayed for three nights before our onward journey to Manali.
Thank you once again. WE WILL BE BACK
"A rustic retreat"
After traveling throughout the Himalayas, we landed in Palampur where we spent two nights at Jerry's Jungle Huts. This lodge is perfect for those who love the outdoors. To reach the hotel one must trek about 1/2 km through the river (or over, if you choose the bridge path) whilst enjoying the magnificent scenery surrounding you. The staff is friendly and provide superior service, from skillfully hopping across the river with your luggage to carefully holding the hands of clumsy guests as they (read: I) attempt to negotiate the river without plunging in headfirst.
The rooms were comfortable and spacious. I enjoyed waking up to the soft mooing of cows outside my door and the soothing sound of the river. Even drinking morning tea on our private patio was a treat with the spectacular view of the Dhauladhar mountain range in the background.
The hosts were gracious and accommodating with many recommendations of things for us to see and do in the area. We first visited Baijnath temple, a 13th century Siva temple, about 16kms from Palampur. The next day we drove up to Dharamshala/McLeodGanj, home of the Dalai Lama and headquarters to the exiled Tibetan government. You can walk amongst the monks at the Buddhist temple and explore the Tibet museum or venture out on one of the many trekking expeditions that take off from this point.
We spent our evenings basking in the warmth of a bonfire after indulging ourselves in a delicious dinner cooked from the offerings of their on-site organic farm. And once our hosts learned that I had never set off fireworks (our trip coincided with the Diwali holidays), they went out of their way to ensure that we experienced a Diwali to remember.
This is truly a five star experience set in a homey, eco-hotel atmosphere.
"Absolutely Superlative experience !!"
We have stayed in many hotels over the past few years.. dormitories to serviced apartments to luxury villas... however this is the first time we've come across a unique blend of exceptionally first class service, excellent five star quality rooms and an informal warm .. almost homely ambience.Starting with the approach and location, this gem is nestled on a hillside outside Palampur and requires the guest to trek up about 1.5 km to the hotel. the view is beautiful and you get a splendid vista of the Dhauladhars and Neugal khand.
The rooms are cosy, warm and clean... and a pleasant surprise was the fluffy linen provided and the clean fresh bed sheets.
The hosts and staff have a friendly attitude and go that extra mile to make the stay as comfortable as possible. the perceptive service is what would bring me back. Small touches like a special barbeque ... pakoras in the afternoon.. just because and the hosts' company at the dinner table every now and then.... makes you feel as if you are at a friend's place and not amongst complete strangers.
The food is tasty and fresh ... and we especially loved the fresh bread and croissants served with breakfast every morning.
There are plenty of walking trails and spots to bathe in the river... the hotel will even pack a picnic and send it out.
And as others have written, we highly recommend Jerry's Jungle huts and are already planning our next trip there.
Stayed October 2014, travelled as a couple.
We recently visited Jerry's resort to enjoy a relaxing holiday close to nature. The resort is quite beautiful with the snow capped mountains always in your views. The food and the service was superb. Our entire experience at Jerry's was the perfect blend of relaxation and fun packed adventures. The staff here makes sure you get to customize your holiday the way you want and serves you with a smile. The best part about this resort is the fact that it is pet-friendly!! It was a lovely experience for my dog as well. If you are looking for a luxurious stay amid nature, Jerry's Jungle Huts is the place to be.
Room Tip: Premium rooms are the best
This is one great place to stay for all the adventure lovers. truly epic!! food was great and especially the services were very good. A visit to Jerrys Jungle Huts is a journey to an unusual place where the beauty and diversity of Himalayan landscape delights the senses, authentic Indian hospitality makes the tourist feel like part of the family and the outdoor adventures range from exhilarating to sublime.
The lodges comfortable bungalows and individual cottages are between a pristine forest reserve, private mountain stream and a ferocious river. It is surrounded by a landscape where birds and butterflies flit through exuberant foliage and complement the soothing sound of flowing water. Jerrys Jungle Huts blend into this landscape. Located at a very comfortable altitude the weather is never too extreme around the year.
Getting there is also part of the adventure, since most of the guests are used to walking the one kilometre trek to the lodge which is quite dramatic passing through a villa, gushing Neugal River and some pine forests. Jerrys Jungle Lodge is also an ideal spot to kick back and relax, enjoy the scenery and serenity, and get to know the local people or just gaze at the imposing Dhauladhar mountain range from the comfort of your balcony.
In fact, most guests say they wish theyd booked a longer stay. A host of activities await the visitor from pure adventure to spiritual and culinary pursuits.Jerrys Jungle Huts is an Eco Farm concept that continually evolves. Hence no two trips ever will be alike.
"Paradise in Palampur's Jungles"
We visited the resort of Jerry's Jungle Huts as a group of 10. It was indeed an exhilarating experience from beginning to end, which left us begging for more!
Starting with the descent from the main road onto the kuchha track, we waded into the chilly water of the Nuggal River in order to cross over to the other bank and commence our as ascent to the Jungle Huts. Cresting the top we were greeted with the warmth of the evening lamps from within the central machhan.
Sitting around the bonfire that evening, we were regaled with tales of the hills by our host Jerry and his wife! The food and drink that night was sumptuous in its simplicity.
Retiring to the warmth of the wooden huts, we slept peacefully to awaken at sunrise to the view of the sun rising over the majestic Dhauladars. The serenity of the place brought a feeling of peace and the all important feeling of being "back to nature".
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful holiday at one with nature; and warm hospitality.
"Truly Back to Nature!"
We recently visited Jerry's Jungle Huts and it was truly a relaxing as well as a fun filled break! The property is naturally surrounded by river on one side and a vast forest on another. The water bodies within the property are breath taking. The view of snow clad mountain range was amazing from the resort.
We requested to have breakfast sitting at one of the larger stones of the water stream within the property and were promptly served with a very pleasing service. The service staff there is very friendly and were ever ready to serve us and that too with a smile.
My kids went for rock climbing and river crossing organized by the resort with a person accompanying my kids and they had lots of fun. We also went to the various temples again organized by the resort and the travel to and fro from the resort was very comfortable.
We had barbecue and bonfire in the evening which was thoroughly enjoyable with a never ending stocks of food supplies. The entire staff there is very courteous and food is delectable.
